I’m Roxie…
To sum it up, I spend a lot of time outdoors. I have never been a homebody and I have always made an effort to experience new things and places but always through travel. I didn’t make a particular effort to spend time in the great outdoors. Having kids changed my outlook. It started as getting out the house every day for my own mental well being as a new mum. I realised how much easier our days were when we got out the house. Everything felt a little less overwhelming and the kids always seem less demanding. Then I started noticing the way they moved outside, the things they explored, the wonder in their eyes. I started researching the benefits of kids spending time outside. It clicked, it made sense, I could see it right in front of me and it turned into something of a passion.
Covid-19 happened and as a family, we spent more time in nature then ever. We bought a boat, and equipped ourselves with camping gear and spent the summer of 2020 enjoying being outside as much as possible.
I wouldn’t say I am outdoorsy, it doesn’t quite fit. I am just an everyday mum who tries to weave in as much time as possible outside into our lives. For the benefits, for the magic, for the memories.
